THE CHAIN / THE AGREEMENT
PROJECT TERMS.
Version 2026-10-23 · Effective 23 October 2026
1. Who operates the project
THE CHAINFILMPROJECT (also presented as The Chain Film Project or The Chain) is a project brand operated by Daniel Atzil, who holds the project rights in his name for the project. It is not identified here as a separate registered company. “We”, “us” and “the operator” mean Daniel Atzil operating this project. Contact us through the contact page for participation, privacy, rights or other questions.
2. Applying and using the website
You must be at least 18 and able to enter this agreement to apply or participate. Provide accurate information and only material you are entitled to share. Applying, being referred or appearing in the applicant gallery does not guarantee selection. The team selects creators for creative suitability and availability. Public browsing, applications and newsletter signup do not require an account. Private Creator Studio access is limited to approved participants; keep your personal entrance link private.
Your application is subject to the terms you accept when applying. Applying alone does not assign copyright in your portfolio or future film. Request corrections or withdrawal through the contact page. An application may be withdrawn before selection; withdrawing does not reverse rights already granted for materials separately submitted under section 5.
3. Your chapter and participation
The project brings together 12 creators, including its first creator, to build one evolving film. Your assignment is a 15-second chapter delivered within 72 hours of your confirmed handoff. The team selects the next creator while the current chapter is made. Follow the brief and supply your video, final frame and continuity assets. Contact the team promptly if you cannot meet the deadline; extensions require agreement.
Participation is voluntary and unpaid. No fee, salary, royalty, revenue share or expense reimbursement is promised unless expressly agreed in writing. You cover your own tools and production costs. Selection does not create employment, partnership or ownership of other creators’ contributions or of the final film.
4. Characters, sound and materials
Film characters must be fictional and AI-generated. Do not use identifiable real people, AI imitations of their appearance, or cloned real-person voices. Consensual creator portraits in profiles and promotional materials are separate from fictional characters in the film.
Every character used must have a Character Sheet in Assets. Link the existing sheet or upload a new one; provide an updated sheet for appearance changes and enough references for continuity. Submit video without background music. Dialogue and sound effects may remain only if you hold all necessary permissions. Disclose third-party material, tools and license restrictions. Do not submit infringing, unlawful or unauthorized content.
5. Rights in submitted contributions
When you separately accept these Creator Terms and submit a chapter or asset for review, you assign to Daniel Atzil, as operator and rights holder for THE CHAINFILMPROJECT, all transferable economic copyright and related rights you own in that submitted contribution, including its original characters and original assets, worldwide for their full applicable term. This applies to the materials identified in that submission and does not transfer unrelated portfolio work, pre-existing tools or third-party rights.
The assignment permits reproduction, publication, editing, adaptation, combination with other work, sequels, promotion, distribution, public display and performance, broadcasting, licensing, sublicensing and commercial exploitation in any media, subject to applicable law. No additional payment is due under these terms. You agree to provide reasonable further written confirmation if required to give effect to the assignment. To the extent an intended assignment is legally ineffective, you grant, to the extent you can, an exclusive, worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license for the same purposes and duration.
You confirm that you have authority to make these grants and have disclosed all restrictions. Third-party and pre-existing material remains subject to its own ownership and permissions; do not include it unless its license permits the intended project uses. AI generation alone does not guarantee copyright or exclusivity. Nothing here transfers rights you do not hold, or waives moral rights or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived. Editorial permissions apply only to the extent allowed by law.
Uploading a private draft grants permission to store, inspect and review it; it does not by itself trigger the assignment above. A separate submission and terms confirmation is required. Rights validly granted on submission survive rejection, removal, withdrawal from participation or termination of Studio access.
6. Creative direction and final cut
Every contribution helps shape the story, but the team retains final editorial control. We may edit, shorten, adapt, rearrange, remove or replace a contribution, even after approval or publication. Approval does not guarantee inclusion in the final film. If a chapter needs a different direction, we may offer the creator another attempt within an agreed period or invite a replacement creator. A revision opportunity is not guaranteed. We aim to communicate these decisions privately and respectfully.
The public work in progress is a raw assembly of approved chapters, not the final edit. The final film may have different pacing, structure, sound and included contributions. The operator holds the rights in the final film to the extent lawfully acquired; no provision claims ownership of rights that belong to others.
7. Credits, profiles and sharing
We aim to credit included contributions accurately using the creator name supplied, subject to practical format limits and applicable rights. A credit does not guarantee continued inclusion or a particular placement. Tell us if a credit is incorrect.
With your public-profile permission, your supplied name, portrait, professional description and links may appear on the website and in project publicity and personalized reveal materials. Your email and phone number are not public profile fields. You retain rights in your portrait and unrelated portfolio; you grant the non-exclusive permission needed for these agreed uses. You confirm that you may authorize the portrait’s use. Contact us to change or withdraw future profile publicity; already distributed materials may not be recoverable.
You may share the project’s supplied promotional kit and links to released chapters with appropriate credit. Obtain permission before separately publishing unreleased footage, private handoff material or project assets outside the project. Public access to the Assets page is not a blanket license for unrelated use. We do not post to your social accounts automatically.
8. Submission confirmation and records
Before submitting a film or asset for review, separately accept these Creator Terms and confirm your authority over the actual material. For chapters, also confirm the 15-second duration, fictional AI characters, Character Sheets and absence of background music. Application acceptance is not a substitute for submission acceptance. We record the accepted version, time and associated application or submission. Earlier acceptances are not silently converted to this version.
9. Privacy and communications
We collect the details you provide in applications, messages and newsletter forms, including your name, email, phone, professional links and portrait where requested. For approved creators we also process account, assignment, upload, review and acceptance records. We use this information to evaluate applications, operate the project, respond to messages, secure private access and document permissions. We publish profile fields only with the relevant permission; private drafts are restricted to authorized access until publication is approved.
Hosting, storage and email providers process information needed to provide these services, including Hostinger and Brevo. Processing may occur outside your country. Newsletter marketing requires your signup consent and can be stopped through its unsubscribe link or by contacting us; operational messages about your participation are separate. Necessary session cookies support private sign-in. Embedded services such as Vimeo and external social links are subject to their providers’ privacy practices.
We retain information as needed for application review, project operation, security, rights records and legal obligations. Retention depends on the purpose and applicable law; backups may retain copies for their normal lifecycle. Request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent through the contact page. We may verify identity and retain records needed to establish rights or meet legal duties. Deletion of contact or profile data does not revoke rights already validly granted in submitted work.
Optional analytics: with your permission, Google Analytics measures public page visits and selected interactions to help improve this website. We do not send form answers, names, emails, private workspace activity or URL query parameters. Google receives technical information needed to process visits, and analytics cookies may be stored on your device. Choose Allow analytics or No thanks in the privacy notice. You can withdraw permission at any time using Privacy choices in the footer. Withdrawal stops future analytics on this browser; it does not erase data already processed by Google. See Google’s privacy policy.
10. Availability, safety and changes
Keep your own copies of submitted files. We cannot promise uninterrupted access, a release date, selection, audience size or commercial success. We may suspend access for misuse, security concerns or breach, and may change or end the project. Do not interfere with the website, misuse another person’s invitation or attempt unauthorized access.
Material changes will be identified with a new version and communicated where they affect existing participation; renewed acceptance will be requested where required. A new version does not retrospectively replace your previous acceptance. No mandatory legal protection or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded is excluded by these terms. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remainder applies to the extent permitted by law. Contact the operator first with a concern so we can try to resolve it; this does not limit your right to seek legal remedies.
